Chess Records was a prominent blues label of the 1950's and 60's. Founded by two brothers in Chicago, this record company also included rhythm and blues, soul, early rock and roll, and gospel music. Although Chess moved to different locations in the city, the location at 2120 S. Michigan Avenue was made famous as a title of a Rolling Stones song. Chess Records artists include: Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry, Etta James, and Bo Diddley.
