Small, simple, and always ready.

The Standard Issue is our most compact binocular—designed for everyday exploring and first looks into the natural world. Fully multi-coated lenses and premium BaK4 prisms deliver bright, sharp views in a small package that’s easy to bring along, whether you’re spotting birds from the trailhead, checking the swell, or scanning the horizon on a road trip.

Built with a rugged, no-slip grip and waterproof, fogproof construction, the Standard Issue is made to live in your pack and come out often. It’s an approachable, go-anywhere optic for new birders and outdoor roamers who want quality glass without the bulk—or the fuss.

  • Fully multi-coated lenses deliver a bright, clear view with less glare and added durability—so what you’re looking at stays sharp, even after miles of use.
  • Premium BaK4 highest quality roof prism made from high-quality optical glass to produce truer color and better clarity, especially in low light when details matter most.
  • Rugged, impact-absorbing housing feels solid and natural in hand, with added grip to protect your binoculars when they inevitably take a hit along the way.
  • Super Compact & Lightweight body at only 336 grams (0.74 lbs) and 4.53 x 4.25 inches (or about two decks of playing cards) designed to fit easily in a bag or backpocket for easy access on the go.
  • Waterproof (IPX7) means they’re built to handle storms, splashes, and full submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes—because weather rarely asks permission.
  • Fogproof construction with nitrogen-filled chambers prevents internal fogging as temperatures and conditions change.
  • Twist-up eyecups adjust easily for a comfortable fit, whether you’re wearing glasses or not.

If you're looking at the Nocs Standard Issue binoculars, the only difference between the 8x25 and 10x25 is the magnification. Both have the same compact size, weight (about 12 oz), and 25mm objective lenses.

Feature 8x25 10x25
Magnification 8x 10x
Field of view 357 ft @ 1,000 yds 315 ft @ 1,000 yds
Exit pupil (brightness/ease of viewing) 3.2 mm 2.5 mm
Size & weight Same Same

Choose the 8x25 if you:

  • Want a wider field of view, making it easier to find and track subjects.
  • Will be hiking, traveling, at concerts, sporting events, or casually birding.
  • Want a steadier image with less noticeable hand shake.
  • Often use binoculars one-handed or while walking.

Choose the 10x25 if you:

  • Need to see farther away, such as wildlife across a lake or mountain scenery.
  • Don't mind that every bit of hand movement is magnified.
  • Are comfortable taking a little more time to line up your view.

The 8 x 25 standard issue binoculars-

  • They're more forgiving to use.
  • You'll have a wider view when scanning landscapes or following wildlife.
  • They feel more stable, which makes them more enjoyable during long hikes or sightseeing.

If you are primarily birding at long distances or trying to identify animals across open fields, consider  the 10x25 instead.
